: Ahmad & Sara's Story

Ahmed and Sara, both in their early thirties sought counseling in order to save their marriage. Sara, who is “tired” of Ahmed’s yelling and aggressiveness, maintains that if he doesn’t gain control of his anger she will leave their marriage. Ahmed, who admits to having an “anger issue,” points the finger at Sara’s angry outbursts and name-calling as the reason for his anger.  They both acknowledge that their marital discord has created an unhealthy environment for not only themselves, but also their two children.

The Costs of Anger to Career Advancement
: Nora's Story

After establishing herself professionally, she spent the past 2 years focusing on marriage.  Although she met a number of men, none materialized into marriage.  Her job performance started to decline, which led her to be passed over for a promotion.  She also acknowledges feelings of resentment towards her family and community for their cultural stereotypes about professional women.
